Launched in 2001, the Dot NAME TLD is the only one meant for personal sites only. These domains can be personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other titles people are known by. Initially, only third-level registrations were allowed, so if you planned to reserve john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already purchased third-level domain names remained online.

Through our company, you can acquire your dot NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will be able to edit the WHOIS contact details, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already registered domain to our company if you have its EPP transfer authorization code from the current registration provider and we will renew it after the transfer has been finalized. There are no specific requirements on who can acquire a dot NAME domain name, but in order to keep the goal behind its creation alive, the Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.
